About Manga Journey

jonathan-mooHi, my name is Jonathan Moo.

I am a Christian aspiring to become a semi-professional/professional manga artist or comic artist.

This blog is about my personal journey to become a semi-professional or professional manga comic artist. Seeing a great lack of resources concerning this obscure profession and the journey to it, I want to publish my own webcomic and eventually a physical comic book.

To me, textbooks teach academics, but comics can impart life lessons. Not only just entertainment value, but if taken in its proper perspective, comic can change our minds as well.

Truth be told, I started learning how to draw comics at a very late age. And reading from many forums and comments, many view this road to be harsh. Talents may be prerequisite, but to many, without luck, success is unreachable.

Still, it doesn’t give any reason to give up. From this journey, I hope to:

  1. Reveal the challenges, pitfalls and purks of this journey to become a manga comic artist.
  2. Share with people my learning  journey and hope that people will benefit from it.
  3. Meet with like-minded people in this industry. It’s good to learn from other people.

So let us see how this journey will mutually benefit each other!

I have just signed up to become today.com’s blogger. Posting per day earns 1 buck per day, and every 1000 page views earns 2 bucks, but the catch is, what you blog in today.com cannot be published anywhere else, and you need to blog everyday!

If you are keen for the challenge, sign up at:

or you can skip the referral and go to today.com yourself.

Its unplanned for, but I am slowly becoming a writer online.

Here are some other websites that I write in:

Hubpages

Squidoo

Still building up my database of articles at Bukisa and Helium

Bukisa is place where you can also earn some cash through writing articles. If you are interested, use this:

or you can bypass the referral and go to bukisa.com yourself.

I found a networking website, shetoldme.com, that allows backlinks to your website: http://shetoldme.com/referral/73686c1b

or you can bypass the referral and to shetoldme.com yourself.

And the best part is, the list of writing sites is still growing.

If you are interested in getting more money from your advertisements in your website, you can try Chitika.com, which can be used together with Google Adsense.:

or you can bypass the referal by going to the website yourself.

I just got into Bachelor of Computer Science, majoring in Multimedia & Game development.

I want to be a semi-professional manga artist at least and understand that the odds are against me currently.

Do take a look at my hubs to look at my journey.

If you are trail blazing your own road in your circumstances, all the best for you.
